Hi. I wanted to send you this picture of your stabilizers on my kayak and let you know they are performing great. We just returned from a trip out to Matagorda Island from Port O’Connor, Texas, around 20+ miles round trip. We sailed most of the way. However the return trip was in 20-30 mph winds, not my preference but that what we had, with gusts over that. The stabilizer were awesome in these extreme conditions. I have a Hobie Outback and at first had them strapped behind the seat so as to use my petals, however since the kayak tapers back to the back from there and the hull does not allow the strap to lie flat, when sailing the strap would work its way loose. So I ran the strap straight down thru the scupper holes behind seat. The strap lies smoothly to the hull and did not require any readjustment even on the extreme sailing trip. Still have not had a chance to try them on my wife’s Hobie Revolution, but I will as she is not able to paddle without removing the Hobie Amas.

Several years ago a friend helped me build a cedar-strip canoe. It is only 31 inches wide, is light-weight, and is easily paddled. However, there is one problem—it tips easily; so easily that my son wouldn’t ride with me. For some time I have been looking for a stabilizer, but none satisfied me until I found the Kay-noe stabilizer fabricated by Fred Wicks. It does everything said about it on the web page. It is light-weight, easily attached, and in the water is easily engaged and disengaged. My son can now stand up in the canoe! The Kay-noe stabilizer makes fishing a delight.
